About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Lead to join our Dock Operations team at Estes Forwarding Worldwide. As a Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of dock personnel, assisting supervisors with managing day-to-day dock activities, and ensuring the integrity of freight and warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of dock personnel to ensure efficient and accurate completion of shipments
  • Assist supervisors with managing day-to-day dock activities, including controlling and maintaining records for accurate and on-time completion of shipments
  • Work in a team environment to accomplish work assignments and delegate tasks to team members
  • Ensure safety methods and programs are implemented and maintained
  • Regular attendance is required
  • Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 1-3 years of experience in Freight Forwarding or Transportation industry
  • Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Ability to individually lift a minimum of 30lbs and team lift a minimum of 70 lbs and work on your feet all day
  • Ability to read and interpret general business documents
  • Attention to detail and good follow-up skills
  • Good judgement; know when to escalate issues and when to try and resolve
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Internet, web-based, and job-specific software applications
  • Must be a self-starter and ability to work with little direction in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a team player with a high level of energy self-motivation
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects and set priorities
  • Ability to solve problems with a variety of concrete variables through semi-standardized solutions that require some ingenuity and analysis
  • Ability to draw inferences and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve moderately complex problems
  • Must be mentally and emotionally capable of handling a high stress environment
  • Must possess a high level of attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to develop and use collaborative relationships to accomplish work goals; develop individual relationships by listening, sharing ideas, and appreciating others' efforts
  • Must be able to pass TSA screening to work in an IAC environment
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
