POSITION SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse in the Women's & Children's Pavilion is responsible for independently planning, executing, and assessing nursing care in various patient care scenarios, adhering to established standards and protocols. This role involves delivering direct nursing care, as well as taking on educational and leadership responsibilities. Participation in unit committees and quality enhancement initiatives is expected, with minimal supervision required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Identifying opportunities for process enhancement and striving for skill improvement.
- Upholding confidentiality principles and understanding legal requirements regarding information release.
- Engaging in data collection and documentation within electronic or paper medical records.
- Conducting thorough patient assessments and prioritizing care based on patient conditions.
- Implementing nursing care efficiently and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions.
- Administering medications accurately and safely, utilizing available resources for guidance.
- Coordinating patient and family education using tailored teaching methods.
- Documenting care clearly and consistently in the electronic medical record.
- Communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Maintaining knowledge of current policies and participating in ongoing professional development.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must possess:
- A valid Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the State of Florida.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited organization.
- Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Specific requirements may vary based on specialty areas, including but not limited to NICU, Labor and Delivery, and Pediatrics.
