About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented General Merchandise Expert to join our team at Target. As a General Merchandise Expert, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our guests have an exceptional shopping experience by maintaining a well-organized and visually appealing sales floor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the sales floor is zoned, in stock, and accurately signed and priced for guests.
  • Execute inbound, replenishment, backroom, and signing processes for General Merchandise areas.
  • Operate power equipment only if certified.
  • Follow processes accurately with attention to detail, monitor own progress.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times to benefit yourself and others; identify and correct hazards; comply with all safety policies and best practices.
Requirements
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team members.
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
  • Work both independently and with a team.
  • Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
  • Attention to detail and follow a multi-step process.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

  • Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
  • Climb up and down ladders.
  • Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds.
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, and holidays) reliable and prompt attendance necessary.
  • Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties.
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).
