We are seeking a skilled and experienced Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse to join our team at John H. Stroger Junior Hospital of Cook County. As a Critical Care Travel Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans, taking into account the patient's medical history, physical condition, and treatment goals.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and make recommendations for changes to their care plan as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and promote a culture of safety.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Illinois.
- 2+ years of experience in an Intensive Care Unit setting, with a focus on critical care and patient assessment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities, with a focus on patient safety and well-being.
- Cerner experience.
- First-time traveler or experienced traveler with a strong track record of success.
