Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at CHI St. Joseph Health. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering quality therapy services to patients, maximizing their functional outcomes, and promoting health care outcomes in concert with currently accepted clinical practice guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and assess patients in a systematic and thorough manner, establishing appropriate treatment plans and goals within specified time frames.
  • Administer appropriate treatments to patients, demonstrating knowledge and skill in the use of therapeutic exercise and activities, manual techniques, transfers, activities of daily living, modalities, and rehabilitation equipment.
  • Instruct and supervise patient care of OT assistants, rehabilitation technicians, and student affiliates in a respectful, courteous, and consistent manner.
  • Maintain timely and accurate medical records, recording legibly in patient charts and completing reports in an organized, thorough, and timely manner.
  • Foster communication with patients and families, other therapists, physicians, nurses, volunteers, and other hospital personnel to achieve goals and establish department support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree; Major in Occupational Therapy or other Occupational Therapy related field.
  • Licensed by the State of Texas - Occupational Therapist.
  • Certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • American Heart Association BLS Certified.
