Aircraft Maintenance Technician Job Summary

STS Technical Services is seeking a skilled Aircraft Maintenance Technician to join our team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. As an Aircraft Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for examining, repairing, and testing aircraft accessories, such as engines, power brake units, and fuel tanks, using hand tools and testing devices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance to prevent failures of aircraft mechanical systems and components
  • Determine when a component should be repaired or replaced and decide upon the necessary repair scheme
  • Repair, rework, and modify worn or defective assemblies, making alterations or changes to units when necessary
  • Follow approved maintenance procedures for subject components or systems, consulting internal procedures and original equipment manufacturer's technical data
  • Inspect completed work before sign off to identify any needed rework and ensure that repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerances
Requirements:
  • High School/ GED
  • A&P License
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years' experience with small aircraft/general aviation trained in one aircraft type
  • Proficient and demonstrated skill with the aircraft
  • Several years or actual and recent depot level aircraft maintenance and repair experience is required
