Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) is tasked with delivering personalized patient care by promoting and restoring health through the nursing process. The RN is responsible for direct patient care, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation, and patient education in accordance with nursing standards.

The Imaging RN will monitor and evaluate both inpatients and outpatients undergoing various minimally invasive procedures, treatments, and examinations. This role encompasses performing procedures across different imaging modalities such as Interventional Radiology (IR), neuro-intervention, Computed Tomography (CT), Ultrasound (US), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), X-Ray, and Nuclear Medicine (NM).

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the patient's treatment team to coordinate care.
  • Review physical examinations, health histories, physician orders, prior images, and lab results.
  • Conduct nursing assessments and routine observations within established timeframes.
  • Administer medications, including moderate/conscious sedation, injections, and intravenous infusions, while safely operating critical care equipment.
  • Recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies, administering emergency medications and treatments as necessary.
  • Document patient assessments, care provided, procedures performed, and updates on the patient's condition and treatment response.
  • Educate patients and families based on assessed needs regarding procedures, medications, wellness, and follow-up care.
  • Adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and quality control protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the department.

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Entry-level training may include an Associate Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

Required License/Certification:

  • Florida State Board of Nursing License or Compact State License.
  • American Heart Association BLS Health Care Provider certification.
  • American Heart Association ACLS Health Care Provider certification.

Experience:

1-3 years of experience in Critical Care or Emergency Department settings is required. Experience in Neuro/Interventional Radiology is preferred.
