The successful candidate will ensure specific operational targets and goals for the projects are met to achieve the expected value. This is a high-exposure role expected to produce exceptional levels of excellence in overseeing Abbott QRC projects.

What You'll Work On

  • Collaborate with business and IT management to establish and gain consensus on project goals, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Assess the degree to which changes to scope, issues, and risks will affect projects, working with department, divisional management, and sponsor to gain agreement for resolution.
  • Measure performance to ensure the project is progressing as compared to the original plan and budget.
  • Develop and execute a work plan, obtaining authorized resources to ensure all activities are performed.
  • Gather lessons learned and obtain final project approval from the sponsor and stakeholders.
  • Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to the Project Team, Department, and Division management.
  • Coordinate resources to ensure project needs are addressed and effectively assign tasks and deliverables to team members based on their abilities.
  • Supervise and motivate a cross-functional project team of business analysts, developers, and validation analysts.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
  • Partner with OCM leadership to ensure readiness and communication expectations are included in project delivery.

Required Qualifications & Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 6 years' experience in project management, business systems analysis, software development, or deployment, with a minimum of 4 years managing projects.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodology, software development life cycle phases, and software development methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification.
  • Experience with indirect management – managing by influence as opposed to positional authority.
  • Proven leadership skills, including the ability to lead meetings and communicate course of action.
  • Experience working with 3rd-party suppliers.
  • Strong analytical skills, including demonstrated proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Project-OCM execution skills.
  • Ability to drive results through others, particularly by establishing relationships, effective controls, and monitoring processes.
  • Proven negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong collaboration and partnering skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy-to-understand business terms to senior leaders.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners and sponsors.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and changing environment.
  • Ability to work within a diverse, performance-based team environment.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • No supervisory responsibilities.
