Clean Earth is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient processing of electronic waste.
Key Responsibilities- Handling Hazardous Waste: Identify, label, store, and manage hazardous waste in accordance with all regulations and internal safety requirements.
- Electronic Waste Recycling: Handle waste batteries and electronics for recycling, including identification, labeling, sorting, and storage.
- Equipment Operation: Unload trucks, stage equipment for processing, and operate fork trucks, lifting mechanisms, drum dumpers, drum and pallet jacks.
- Documentation and Safety: Document all operations in logs and ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a clean and safe work environment and communicate effectively with team members and management.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Good mechanical ability required, ability to read, write, and understand English, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Demands: Medium to heavy working conditions, lifting 50 pounds minimum on a regular basis, and ability to climb stairs, stand for 8 hours a day, lift 60 pounds, and move 55-gallon drums.
