LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE

Position Overview:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in delivering essential nursing care to patients across various settings, including private residences, healthcare facilities, and rehabilitation centers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor patients' health by regularly checking vital signs and observing their overall condition.
  • Administer direct patient care, which includes managing colostomies and tracheotomies, preparing medications, and performing nursing procedures as required.
  • Document and manage medications and treatments, noting any changes in patients' conditions and their responses to care.
  • Provide education to patients and their families regarding medical care, including catheter and colostomy management, insulin administration, and personal hygiene practices.
  • Assist physicians in clinical settings by gathering patient information, preparing patients for examinations, and transcribing medical orders.
  • Communicate effectively with the next shift regarding patient progress and any significant events during the shift.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Work Environment:
Flexibility in work hours may be required, including the possibility of rotating shifts. The role may involve physical demands such as lifting and positioning patients and managing various patient behaviors.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a diploma or certificate from an accredited practical nursing program. Candidates must hold a valid license as a Licensed Practical Nurse issued by the appropriate state board.
