Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Focused Systems Engineer to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our Systems Engineering Design & Architecture organization, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and partnering with multi-disciplines to shape innovative solutions for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage system and subsystem requirements, providing technical oversight during integration and test activities.
  • Participate in verification and validation efforts for the system, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
  • Provide SE expertise in troubleshooting and failure investigations, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the embedded software team and customer technical community to establish and maintain relationships, driving technical excellence and innovation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Five years of experience in software architecture, design, development, integration, and verification, or configurable logic / firmware / VHDL architecture, design, development, integration, and verification, or systems engineering, architecture, and/or design.
  • Two years of systems engineering experience with at least four of the following: software or firmware development, software or firmware testing, interfacing with customers, developing CONOPS, developing & refining system architecture, developing & refining system requirements, performing functional & physical analyses, performing functional allocation, creating & maintaining specifications, developing requirements verification strategies and plans, developing integrated systems security solutions, subassembly integration & verification, system integration & verification, software development using C, C#, C++, or Python, experience with Matlab.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post Graduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics.
  • Experience using Agile framework development methods/processes and tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Familiarity with military systems; tactics, techniques, and procedures and work with the DoD customer.
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle as it relates to the Software Development life cycle.
  • Prior work experience giving technical briefs or presentations with strong verbal and written communication skills.
