Bartender Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional guest service by greeting guests in a courteous and friendly manner, taking and preparing beverage orders accurately and efficiently, and responding to guests' needs.
  • Operate the micros system and cash register effectively, following all cash handling and POS procedures to ensure accurate closing of guest checks.
  • Prepare drinks to recipe and brand standards, using proper equipment and adhering to cost controls to reduce expenses and waste.
  • Monitor guests' consumption of alcoholic beverages to ensure compliance with state and local liquor laws, and check guests' identification.
  • Assist other associates as needed to ensure guest needs are met, and complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, handling all beverage and food in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and follow all procedures for guest and associate incidents.
  • Produce required volume of work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing work duties, adhering to grooming and appearance standards, and attending all required department and hotel meetings.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • TIPS or CARE beverage service certification desired, or the ability to obtain certification required.
  • One or more years of previous bartending experience or Bartender certification required.
  • Demonstrated exemplary customer service, attention to detail, and ability to perform job duties in a repetitious and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to speak, understand, and write English to meet guests' needs and complete required paperwork.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis.
