Rural Carrier Associate Job Description

As a Rural Carrier Associate with the US Postal Service, you will play a vital role in delivering mail and packages to customers across various rural routes. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver mail and packages to customers along a prescribed route using a vehicle.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Sort mail in delivery sequence for the assigned route, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Loading mail into vehicles and maintaining accurate records of delivered mail.
  • Collecting monies and receipts for accountable mail, as well as picking up mail from roadside boxes.
  • Returns undelivered mail, submits monies and receipts to the post office, and prepares mail for forwarding.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
