We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Nurse to join our team at Cobb and Douglas Public Health. As a Public Health Nurse, you will play a critical role in promoting and protecting the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas counties.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing care to populations with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols.
- Collaborate with local physicians, hospitals, substance abuse centers, correctional facilities, and community organizations to promote TB education and ensure continuity of care.
- Identify high-risk populations and tailor interventions based on the needs of the population and the resources available.
- Provide treatments, administer medication/vaccines, and provide preventive and maintenance care to patients/families consistent with care plans and/or physician treatment plans.
- Screen and refer clients to other community service providers.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification OR Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND One year of PHN experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.
- Preferred qualifications include professional experience in public health nursing, some public health and infectious disease experience, and the ability to translate English to Spanish and Spanish to English orally and written.
