Material Procurement Specialist

**Job Summary**

Continental is seeking a highly skilled Material Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our supply chain operations, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring the procurement of materials to ensure the highest material availability at the lowest cost.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Manage inventory levels and review customer requirements and demand with Product Management and Sales departments.
  • Issue material releases to vendors, track shipments, and coordinate timely and efficient delivery to our warehouse(s).
  • Focus on KPI's such as Logistics Cost of Sales, Working Capital, Inventory, Delivery Performance, and Freight expenses.
  • Participate in monthly forecast review meetings with Product Management and Sales.
  • Ensure receipts are processed accurately and generate timely payment to vendors.
  • Coordinate the introduction of new parts and the phase-out of obsolete material.
  • Support EDI setup to vendors to increase the availability of electronic delivery information.

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of logistics experience in distribution or manufacturing environment (i.e. SAP) or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience using an ERP system.
  • Ability to take initiatives and work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Previous experience in the automotive industry.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
