Cambridge Health Alliance New Grad RN Residency Program

We are excited to offer a comprehensive New Grad RN Residency Program for recent nursing graduates. This program is designed to provide a supportive and structured environment for new nurses to transition into clinical practice.

Program Overview

The New Grad RN Residency Program is a 12-month program that includes classroom education, clinical training, and mentorship. Our program is designed to provide new nurses with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a hospital setting.

Key Components
  • Classroom education: 4-8 hours per month, covering topics such as patient assessment, medication administration, and communication skills
  • Clinical training: unit-based orientation with one-on-one preceptor guidance, working concurrently with your manager and nursing educator to achieve independent performance in the clinical environment
  • Mentorship: regular meetings with a designated mentor to provide guidance and support
Eligibility

To be eligible for the New Grad RN Residency Program, you must:

  • Be a recent graduate from an accredited BSN or ADN nursing program
  • Have passed the NCLEX exam by November 11, 2024
  • Have no prior RN experience in an acute care environment (prior experience or senior practicum required for Emergency)
  • Hold current American Heart Association BLS certification
