Position Summary

We are in search of a skilled Product Strategist with a background in healthcare to join our innovative team. Our Product Strategists excel at the convergence of corporate vision, client insights, market dynamics, and technical factors. This position requires close collaboration with client-facing teams to collect feedback, feature requests, and market intelligence that shape our strategic direction, objectives, and prioritization processes. Understanding these often implicit needs enables us to make informed long-term strategic choices, establish suitable mid-term targets, and prioritize immediate tasks effectively.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in the revenue cycle within healthcare systems and a solid understanding of various non-clinical operational functions. Within this scope, the candidate should demonstrate exceptional data analysis capabilities and a keen interest in data visualization. While we do not require our Product Strategists to have been hands-on engineers, having a grasp of the complexities involved in engineering work is beneficial as part of the software development teams.

This role is crucial for the development of a groundbreaking solution at Janus. We are enhancing our existing offerings related to clinical and administrative healthcare documentation to address a significant challenge faced by health systems. This Product Strategist will be responsible for the success of this new product from its initial concept through to MVP, testing, launch, and subsequent iterations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain early-stage product development processes and create a comprehensive product roadmap that balances client needs, technical requirements, and company objectives.
  • Collaborate with our development partners, internal customer success teams, and other Product Management teams to translate business needs into actionable technical specifications.
  • Work alongside Engineering Managers to ensure the successful execution of product implementation, feature development, and ongoing product research documentation.
  • Interpret client requirements, recognizing the operational and technical complexities involved, and articulate a clear narrative regarding the product development journey.
  • Take ownership of a rapidly growing product backlog, ensuring tasks are well-defined, prioritized, and aligned with the overarching product strategy.
  • Establish trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, including customer-facing implementation and account management teams.
  • Communicate effectively both internally and externally to keep stakeholders informed about ongoing initiatives, including items not currently prioritized.
  • Identify obstacles to success and efficiency, proactively addressing them to shorten feedback loops and enhance our collective capacity to resolve client challenges.
  • Timely escalate issues and risks to management and develop suitable mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of experience in product management within a technical or development environment.
  • Experience with revenue cycle management (RCM), Practice Management, and EHR systems; familiarity with Epic is preferred.
  • Proficiency in SQL for identifying and quantifying issues.
  • Hands-on experience in creating data visualizations using Amazon QuickSight or similar tools is preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Agile/SCRUM project management methodologies.
  • A passion for skill development, tackling engaging work, and solving complex problems.
  • Excellent prioritization, logical reasoning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to innovate in a fast-paced environment and navigate ambiguity comfortably.

Travel Requirements

This position does not necessitate domestic travel. Any travel expectations will be communicated by the department manager or executive.

Physical Demands

This role operates in a professional remote or in-office setting, utilizing standard office equipment. The position is primarily sedentary, allowing for movement as needed. The employee will frequently communicate with internal and/or external parties and must be able to exchange accurate information promptly.
