Job Title: LPN Substitute

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team as a substitute in various schools within the Kennewick School District.

Job Summary:

The LPN Substitute will be responsible for providing medical care and support to students with special needs, under the supervision of a district RN. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications and provide medical care to students as outlined in their Individual Healthcare Plans (IHPs)
  • Assist paraeducators and teachers with learning activities in the classroom
  • Work collaboratively with school staff, including RNs, teachers, and administration, to ensure the best possible outcomes for students
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required
Requirements:
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure
  • Current Health Care Provider certification
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • AA degree or equivalent (72 quarter hours or 48 semester hours of college-level credits)
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain a fingerprint clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with students with medical needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Working Conditions:

The LPN Substitute will work in a variety of school settings, including classrooms, offices, and other areas as needed. The position requires the ability to stand, walk, and move quickly in emergency situations. The employee must also be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
