Job Summary:

This position supports San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital's strategic plan and mission to provide safe, high-quality, personalized healthcare services, while embracing core values of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Commitment.

The Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) performs services planned, delegated, and supervised by the Occupational Therapist, assisting patients to prevent disability and promote maximal patient and caregiver participation and responsibility for the recovery program following disease, injury, surgery, or loss of a body part. The COTA provides care according to Rehab Department policies and procedures and applies treatment techniques in accordance with discipline-specific designated practice acts. Services are provided to patients under physician's orders. The COTA fosters a constructive and supportive approach to department operations, understanding economic constraints and practicing resource conservation. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:

Education:
  • Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from a school accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) and passing the National Occupational Therapy Exam approved by the Occupational Therapy Examining Committee of the State Board of Medical Quality Assurance is required.
Licensure:
  • Current License from the Occupational Therapy Board of California
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Experience:
  • 1+ years of clinical experience is highly preferred.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
  • Basic Computer Skills are necessary.
Compensation and Benefits:

Estimated pay: $27.30 to $35.00 per hour based on qualifications (including but not limited to experience, education, certifications, and licensure where applicable).

Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, basic life and AD&D, optional supplemental life (employee, spouse, and/or child coverage), flexible spending accounts (medical and dependent care), 403b retirement with dollar-for-dollar match up to 5%, paid time off, and more available depending on employment status.
