We are currently looking for an Associate Engineer specializing in MEP systems to join our team. This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring in-office attendance for two days a week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize your engineering expertise and understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to:
  • Collaborate with a team of architects and engineers to perform property condition assessments (PCAs) and facility condition assessments (FCAs).
  • Assist clients in preparing annual budgets for capital, operations, and maintenance.
  • Conduct peer reviews of building designs.
  • Execute energy audits, system commissioning, forensic evaluations, construction management, and assessments of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Engage with clients and on-site personnel.
  • Participate in a variety of projects that present unique challenges and opportunities for significant impact.
  • Travel to project sites as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Preferred candidates will hold a BSME, BSEE, or BSAE with a focus on mechanical or electrical engineering, a PE license, and a minimum of 10 years of experience in the design and/or evaluation of building MEP systems.
  • Proven leadership and successful project management experience are essential.
  • Expertise in HVAC and plumbing systems is required, along with a foundational understanding of electrical systems and energy conservation principles.
  • Familiarity with national and state building codes, as well as experience in facilities engineering, energy audits, commissioning, and sustainability consulting, is advantageous.
  • LEED or CEM certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to integrate a passion for sustainability with local requirements to provide expert solutions to clients.
  • Strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and multitasking capabilities are critical.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and Box is expected.

Physical Requirements

  • Candidates should possess the ability to:
  • Operate a computer and other office productivity equipment.
  • Maintain visual acuity for job duties, including reading printed materials and computer screens.
  • Navigate construction and existing building sites, including rough terrain.
  • Respond to potentially hazardous situations.
  • React quickly to auditory signals.
  • Ascend and descend ladders and stairs.
  • Move safely through confined spaces.
  • Work in outdoor conditions or unconditioned environments.
  • Travel approximately 25-50% of the time, both in-state and out-of-state.
