Job Description

As an Industrial Engineer at General Motors, you will play a critical role in optimizing our manufacturing processes to achieve efficiency and quality excellence. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and optimize work processes to improve efficiency and quality
  • Lead teams in conducting thorough assessments of work processes
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with teams to develop and implement standardized work
  • Provide standard time data to teams for writing standardized work
  • Analyze jobs for safety, quality, and efficiency and recommend changes/improvements
  • Maintain standardized work documentation as current
  • Support a standard process for managing changes to standardized work across all shifts
  • Complete regular validations of manual and automatic cycles
  • Provide throughput analysis reports and analyze throughput improvement proposals to remove bottlenecks
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments of work with UAW joint partner
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years of industrial engineering experience
  • Proficiency in designing work operations that meet safety, quality, and efficiency requirements
  • Knowledge and ability to coach and implement lean manufacturing principles
  • Familiarity with ergonomic principles and risk factors
  • Strong analytical ability, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and assignments with a high level of autonomy and accountability for results
