Job Overview

Position Title: Traveling Millwright

Role Summary

The Traveling Millwright plays a crucial role in supporting our clients by traveling to various locations to install and maintain industrial machinery and equipment. This position demands a candidate with substantial experience in MCCH Conveyor installations. The successful applicant will possess a robust mechanical skill set, capable of diagnosing issues and implementing solutions, while also being comfortable working autonomously as well as collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to multiple job sites for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Disassemble, relocate, and reassemble machinery and equipment as required.
  • Ensure proper alignment and leveling of machinery and equipment.
  • Identify and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals accurately.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment at all times.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to carry out repairs or installations.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including OSHA and local guidelines.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by the Site Foreman.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential functions such as standing, walking, climbing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and bending.
  • Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds regularly.
  • Experience in operating tools and performing mechanical or skilled trade tasks.
  • Welding capability in challenging environments, such as heights and confined spaces, is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; a Journeyman Millwright certificate or equivalent is preferred.
  • Ability to successfully complete a standard welding test is preferred.
  • Strong listening and reading comprehension skills for assignments.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with rigging is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight and weekend trips.
