POSITION SUMMARY
The Culinary Specialist is responsible for preparing meals in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as established policies and procedures, ensuring that high-quality food service is consistently delivered.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Exemplifies commitment to the organization's mission, values, and ethical standards.
- Projects a positive and professional image that reflects the organization's mission and fosters teamwork among colleagues.
- Treats all residents with fairness, kindness, dignity, and respect, ensuring their rights are upheld.
- Respects residents' personal and property rights while performing duties, including knocking before entering a resident's room.
- Prepares meals according to planned menus, standardized recipes, and dietary requirements, reviewing menus prior to food preparation.
- Ensures meals are not only nutritious but also visually appealing.
- Adheres to sanitary regulations and established policies and procedures during food preparation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-2 years of experience in dietary services, preferably in acute or long-term care settings.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Completion of a Food Safety/Sanitation course is mandatory.
