Job Title: Medical Technician

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Technician to join our team at The Lakes Assisted Living & Memory Care.

About the Job

As a Medical Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents. You will be responsible for assisting residents with their medications, monitoring their conditions, and providing general care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with their prescribed medications, including pouring and passing medications.
  • Accurately document all medications given to residents in the medication binder.
  • Ensure that all centrally stored medication is inaccessible to residents or staff who are not authorized to handle medication.
  • Observe residents for any reactions or side effects of medication and report to the resident physician.
  • Document any changes in the resident's health condition or mental status.
  • Ensure each resident's medication chart is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Adhere to infection control and prevention procedures at all times.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, dental care, and incontinence care as needed.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in assisted living or geriatric care.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and basic patient care.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Compassion and empathy when working with elderly or disabled individuals.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and respect privacy.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move patients if required.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
