Position Overview

AECOM is currently seeking a Senior Water Resources Project Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of projects focused on water resource management and infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to design teams on water resource initiatives, including floodplain analysis, municipal water projects, and drainage design.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, engaging in project presentations and promoting AECOM's capabilities to current and potential clients.
  • Participate in the evaluation of project opportunities, consultant selection, and the preparation of qualifications and experience statements.
  • Facilitate contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors, drafting comprehensive service agreements for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms among project teams and subcontractors, monitoring adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Develop project work plans, defining scope, schedule, and budget, while effectively communicating these elements to team members; oversee project execution to meet quality, budgetary, and timeline objectives.
  • Supervise technical staff and project managers, managing workloads and staffing requirements.
  • Monitor and report on the financial performance of projects to senior management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 20+ years of experience in water resource management.
  • 5+ years of project management experience.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in Colorado or the ability to obtain one within the first six months of employment.
  • Experience working with local and regional clients in Colorado.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including client engagement, public speaking, and persuasive communication; proven ability to manage project finances and lead diverse teams.
