Role Summary

The Manufacturing Welder plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and quality of our greenhouse components. This position is integral to our mission and values, focusing on achieving organizational goals through skilled craftsmanship and adherence to specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate welding machinery to meet specified tolerances and standards.
  • Maintain current welding certifications as required.
  • Perform primarily MIG welding, with some tasks involving TIG and Stick welding techniques.
  • Interpret technical drawings to ensure accurate equipment setup and material selection.
  • Implement quality control measures for all welding tasks, ensuring compliance with stringent specifications.
  • Conduct quality checks on completed work.
  • Measure and cut materials accurately for production needs.
  • Utilize measuring tools and gauges effectively.
  • Engage in daily communication and meetings to clarify instructions and expectations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Assist in training and orienting seasonal staff under the guidance of senior welders and production supervisors.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area on a daily basis.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Proficient in MIG welding, with knowledge of TIG and Stick welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret production drawings accurately.
  • Skilled in using measuring instruments and calipers with precision, maintaining tolerances of 1/16" or less.
  • Strong sense of accountability and focus on efficient task execution.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships with colleagues and management.
  • Capable of working under pressure to meet production deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Recognizing opportunities for improvement is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D., with a minimum of six months of welding experience.
  • Must successfully complete an onsite supervised welding test.
Work Environment

The work environment is representative of a standard manufacturing setting. Employees may be required to perform physical tasks for extended periods, including walking, standing, and lifting.
