Registered Nurse Per Diem Position

UC San Diego Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Surgical Progressive Care Unit. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide autonomous nursing care to patients with complex medical needs, utilizing your expertise and knowledge to assess and address their needs.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities, prioritizing tasks and making sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, demonstrating empathy and kindness in all interactions.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- RN License issued by the State of California.
- BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire, with commitment to obtain ART within six months.
- Minimum one year of recent acute care RN experience in PCU, IMU, or Telemetry.
- Experience with kidney and liver transplant patients, or willingness to learn and adapt to new patient populations.
- BSN.
- PCCN, OCN, Med/Surg, CCRN certifications.
- Two or more years of RN experience in acute care PCU or IMU.
- Experience with liver and kidney transplant or surgical oncology patients.
As a Registered Nurse at UC San Diego Health, you will work in a dynamic and supportive environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, including those with complex medical needs, and contribute to the development of innovative care practices.
This is a per diem position, requiring an average of one shift per week per four-week schedule. You will be expected to work various hours, days, shifts, and locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.
