About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Midwest City. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in providing diagnostic and intervention services for students with speech, language, and hearing disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide diagnostic and intervention services for students with speech, language, and hearing disorders
  • Collaborate with district administrators, teachers, parents, and students to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Conduct speech-language evaluations and recommend appropriate placement and service delivery for students eligible to receive speech-language services
  • Develop and implement strategies to help students access the general education curriculum
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certification
  • Oklahoma State Department of Education certification in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Oklahoma State Board licensure in Speech-Language Pathology
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Provide speech-language evaluations for students referred by school personnel, parents, and coordinating agencies
  2. Recommend appropriate placement and service delivery for students eligible to receive speech-language services
  3. Provide consultative services to school staff by sharing and demonstrating specific techniques and working with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate relevant and consistent interventions for targeted students
  4. Attend professional meetings, in-services, and workshops to stay current on best practices in speech-language pathology
Language and Grammar Skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to compose and write grammatically correct correspondence and memos
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schedule form, or blueprint form
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Occasionally required to sit
Work Environment
  • Regularly exposed to fume or airborne particles
  • Frequently works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions
  • Frequently works near moving mechanical parts, extreme cold (including outdoors), extreme heat (including direct sunlight), risk of electrical shock, and vibration
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • May occasionally be required to supervise a varying number of employees in the overall direction, coordination, and completion of tasks as assigned
