Occupational Therapist for Pediatric Care

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at Whole Child Therapy Inc. in San Dimas, CA. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a strong commitment to providing high-quality occupational therapy services.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will provide occupational therapy services to students in a school setting, working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' sensory, motor, and developmental needs. This is a part-time (4 days, 28 hours/week) or full-time (4 days at school site, 1 day at clinic, 36 hours/week) opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of children.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and collaborative occupational therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings.
- Monitor students' progress and communicate updates to the OT, teachers, and parents.
- Collaborate with the OTR on adjusting individualized treatment plans as needed.
- Provide consultation and training to teachers and staff on strategies to support students' sensory and motor needs within the classroom environment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other required records.
Requirements:
- Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/OTR) from an accredited program.
- Valid California license or eligibility to obtain licensure as an Occupational Therapy or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Previous experience working as a COTA/OTR in a school or pediatric setting is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of sensory processing, motor skills development, and evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the individual needs of students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and report writing.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with current practices in occupational therapy.
