Barista

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Beverage Specialist to join our team at Sun Communities. As a key member of our food and beverage team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of delicious coffee, tea, and other beverages to our team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and Serve Beverages: Greet team members and take orders; prepare and serve Starbucks espresso, coffee, tea, and other beverages, as well as various food offerings, in accordance with established service standards.
• Food and Beverage Preparation: Arrange, maintain, and serve food offerings from the pastry case.
• Shift Operations: Perform shift opening and closing duties as assigned.
• Cleanliness and Sanitation: Clean, sanitize, and maintain the beverage bar area, including counters and equipment.
• Inventory Management: Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed, including monitoring expiration dates. Stock and replenish food, beverages, paper products, and utensils as needed.
• Customer Service: Efficiently serve team members by being knowledgeable of offerings. Assist with various administrative duties, including ordering products, organizing the stock room, coordinating vendors, etc.
• Quality and Service: Research and resolve quality and service complaints and/or issues, escalating those that need further resolution to a supervisor.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: Previous experience in a barista role, preferred. 1-year experience in a customer-facing role
• Skills: Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills. Professional appearance. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and internet.
