Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team for a travel assignment in Peoria, Illinois. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing radiopharmaceutical agents and administering them to patients prior to using a scanner or camera to capture images.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attain required approval and signature by nuclear medicine physicians
  • Transfer, position, and instruct patients in preparation for procedures
  • Operate the scanner or gamma scintillation camera
  • Perform procedures including injecting radiopharmaceuticals under the direct supervision of a radiologist
  • Provide assistance to patients during procedures
  • Ensure the environment is safe at all times for patients and staff by following safety and radiation disposal procedures
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Understand and use the McKesson PACS system
Requirements:
  • 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • ARRT (N) National Certification with registration in Nuclear Medicine or NMTCB-CNMT
  • State-specific licensing when required
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
