Position Overview:

The Outpatient Radiology Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering healthcare services through the administration of X-Ray imaging to aid in medical diagnosis and treatment. This position involves conducting X-Ray examinations and utilizing various techniques to produce diagnostic images as requested by licensed healthcare practitioners.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Radiology program accredited by the Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) or an equivalent program.
  • Valid Montana Licensure as a Radiology Technologist.
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant clinical experience; internship experience may be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts radiographic examinations as per the requests of healthcare providers.
  • Assists in fluoroscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in collaboration with radiology providers.
  • Performs ultrasound-guided procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, and arthrocentesis in conjunction with radiology professionals.
  • Educates patients regarding preparation and post-care related to radiology procedures.
  • Supports radiology nursing staff with fluoroscopically guided PICC line placements.
  • Executes C-arm fluoroscopy examinations in the operating room as directed by surgical teams.
  • Completes necessary documentation to ensure accurate interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of imaging studies.
  • Engages in ancillary tasks to maintain efficient distribution, billing, and archival processes for exams and procedures.
  • Retrieves written orders and pertinent health information as required.
  • Participates in the development, monitoring, and enhancement of hospital quality indicators.

  • Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office, EMR systems, and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Exhibits sound judgment, patience, and professionalism consistently.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of completing tasks accurately and thoroughly with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts as needed.
