Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesOur Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging Department offers a wide range of services to assist in the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of medical conditions and urgent injuries. Key responsibilities of the Radiologic Imaging Specialist include:
- Operating x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of specific body areas.
- Performing x-ray therapy under the supervision of a Radiologist, explaining procedures to patients, and addressing their concerns.
- Serving patients in the emergency department, hospital, and outpatient settings.
- Conducting procedures according to established protocols for patients of all ages.
- Maintaining expert technical and patient-care skills to deliver quality diagnostic results.
- Completion of an AMA-approved Radiology Technology training program with current ARRT certification.
- Must maintain current registry through continuing education to uphold knowledge and skill levels.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
- Strong critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and lifting patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Preferred: 2 years of recent acute care experience.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Registered Radiographer (ARRT) certification.
- Vocational School Graduate.
