Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our clients, providing in-home direct care, community-based skill building, and respite care to their guardians. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism, and will be able to provide supervision hours to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) or internships.
Responsibilities:
- Provide in-home direct care to individuals with intellectual disabilities, including skill building of ADLs and IADLs
- Develop and implement community-based skill building programs to enhance the client's independence and quality of life
- Provide respite care to the guardians of the individual, allowing them to take a break and recharge
- Maintain a professional relationship with the family and maintain positive rapport with the individual
- Follow behavioral plans and programming to ensure the client's needs are met
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred
- Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism
- Ability to pass a CORI check
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
