Job Title: Wealth Strategist

We are seeking a highly skilled Wealth Strategist to join our team at JFS Wealth Advisors LLC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert financial planning and tax advice to high-net-worth clients.

Job Summary:

The Wealth Strategist will be responsible for researching and providing solutions to complex tax and financial planning issues for our clients. This includes coordinating with other professionals to implement solutions and providing technical expertise to complex client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Research and Provide Solutions: Conduct research on various client planning issues and recommend creative solution options. Coordinate implementation of solutions with appropriate professionals.
  2. Technical Expertise: Provide tax planning, trust, and estate planning technical expertise to complex client relationships. Work with other JFS technical experts to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  3. Tax Services: Prepare and review year-end tax planning arrangements. Complete tax returns and review and sign tax returns prepared by other staff members.
  4. Tax Return Signor: Provide final review and take overall responsibility for quality and accuracy of tax returns prior to sending them to the IRS and state and local taxing authorities.
  5. Monitor Tax Law and Financial Planning Changes: Read and interpret tax law and financial planning changes. Translate changes into understandable language and help JFS advisors and staff develop effective client strategies.
  6. Communicate Advanced Financial Planning and Tax Topics: Educate JFS advisors and staff on advanced financial planning and tax topics. Provide periodic internal financial planning newsletters and contribute to JFS quarterly newsletters for clients and COIs.
  7. Mentorship and Teamwork: Provide coaching and guidance to Associate Advisors and Tax Staff to help develop junior members of the firm. Interact with other employees to promote smooth workflow and advance the firm's image.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university majoring in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum Enrolled Agent, CPA preferred. CFP and Master of Taxation preferred.
  • Must have experience functioning as the final signor for individual and trust tax returns.
  • Minimum of 8 years of financial planning, and tax planning and preparation experience.
  • 3 or more years supervisor experience is preferred.
