Overview
This role is pivotal in supporting the educational and developmental initiatives within Lee County Public Safety. The selected candidate will play a key role in organizing training sessions, developing educational materials, and providing high-quality instruction to Paramedic students and emergency medical service providers. Regular attendance at scheduled training events is a requirement, which includes but is not limited to paramedic training programs, quarterly training sessions, onboarding for new hires, and simulation exercises.
Key Responsibilities
- Development of curriculum at the Paramedic level.
- Utilization of Learning Management Systems to facilitate coursework and monitor student progress.
- Conducting practical training sessions at LCEMS-sponsored events.
- Instructing in Paramedic programs.
- Providing AHA training in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
- Delivering NAEMT instruction as assigned.
- Conducting EVOC training as necessary.
- Managing the simulation training lab.
- Collaborating with assistant instructors, EMS educators, and field training officers to ensure that all logistical requirements for training and education are met.
- A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience, along with a minimum of one year in EMS or a related field.
- Must obtain Level A EMS Instructor certification within six months of hire.
- Must obtain Level B EMS Instructor certification within one year of hire.
- AHA Instructor certification in at least one discipline required within six months of hire.
- Current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are mandatory.
- Active Florida State Paramedic Certification or Registered Nurse license is required.
- A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is essential.
