Job SummaryThis is a per diem position that involves providing nursing interventions and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and enhance the quality of life for patients and their families. Under the direction of an RN, you will be responsible for administering medications, performing venipuncture, documenting patient information, and collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities- Providing nursing tasks to patients and families, including continuous care, dressing changes, and catheter changes, as identified in the plan of care developed by the Interdisciplinary Group (IDG).
- Demonstrating clinical skills regarding medication administration, symptom management, and patient/family relationships, as well as observing and reporting signs of adverse reactions and responses to treatments.
- Performing venipuncture for blood specimens, Central Venous Line (CVL) site observation/inspection, and IV medication and fluid administration.
- Documenting patient information according to policy and procedure in medical records.
- A high school diploma or G.E.D. or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current LPN licensure in the state of employment.
- Active BLS for healthcare professionals from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Mobile Driver - Valid driver's license and automobile insurance per Company policy.
- Reliable transportation to meet visit schedule.
- If working in an inpatient unit, certificate of completion of 30 hour Infusion Therapy Course and in-house 8-hour Infusion Class preferred.
- Ability to communicate (written and verbal) in English.
- Flexible schedule to meet the needs of patients.
- Ability to use equipment with visual and auditory mechanisms.
- Ability to manage the emotional stress of working with and caring for terminally ill patients and their families.
- Ability to perform the essential functions and physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
$25-$35 per hour, depending on location and experience.
