Phlebotomy Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist I to join our team at Quest Diagnostics Incorporated. As a Phlebotomist I, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and laboratories. This is a part-time position, with a schedule that includes Monday-Wednesday and Friday from 8:00AM to 1:00PM, and Thursday from 9:00AM to 2:00PM.

Responsibilities:

Collect blood specimens from patients in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and laboratories.
Administer oral solutions to patients as needed.
Verify patient information and test orders using lab technology systems and approved tools.
Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test order.
Perform non-patient facing duties, including inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and utilizing email as appropriate.
Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data as required.
Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner and based on frequency.
Complete online and in-person training courses timely.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Medical training, such as medical assistant or paramedic training, preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
Keyboard/data entry experience required.
The ability to effectively communicate in English is required.
