Secondary Guidance Counselor

Choctaw-Nicoma Park Public School District is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Secondary Guidance Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in college and career guidance, with the ability to provide support and guidance to high school students as they navigate their academic and personal journeys.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive college and career guidance program for high school students
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students, focusing on academic and personal development
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
• Assist students with college and scholarship applications, as well as financial aid and scholarship searches
• Develop and maintain relationships with local colleges and universities to provide students with opportunities for college visits and campus tours
• Stay up-to-date on college and career trends, as well as changes in state and federal education policies

• Masters degree in School Counseling or related field
• Secondary Guidance Counseling certification in the State of Oklahoma
• Minimum 3 years teaching experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and administrators
