Job Summary:

The Ultrasound Technologist PRN at Frankfort Regional Medical Center is responsible for performing complex technical tasks utilizing high frequency ultrasound waves to assist with the detection of anatomical abnormalities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform ultrasound examinations, including Color Doppler vascular examinations, Abdominal studies, Breast ultrasound, and Ob-Gyn procedures.
  • Assist physicians with biopsy procedures and prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process to them.
  • Monitor and report changes in patient condition to appropriate healthcare providers.
  • Operate ultrasound and accessory equipment, ensuring patient safety and image quality.
  • Communicate preliminary procedure diagnostic findings to radiologists or other physicians.
  • Evaluate the quality of sonogram procedures and determine if additional imaging is required.

Requirements:

  • A.S. in Radiological Health Sciences or graduate of an accredited US program.
  • Registration by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and/or Certification from a formal US program.
  • Modality certification required or must be obtained within 1 year of employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
