Job Summary:
Trotter Workforce is seeking a skilled CDL A driver to join our team. As a dynamic and innovative recruiting firm, we take pride in offering diverse career opportunities across a multitude of industries.
Responsibilities:
- Load flat bed and tilt bed trailers with precision and care.
- Ensure the safe transportation of goods by following all applicable safety procedures.
- Conduct regular vehicle checks to guarantee that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Maintain accurate logs of working hours and vehicle service and repair status.
- Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
- Verify all load-related documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Safely maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from the loading crew.
- Drive trucks with capacities greater than 13 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver products or materials.
- Secure cargo for transport using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers.
- Read bills of lading to determine assignment details.
- Perform tasks that require lifting objects of up to 50 lbs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain a consistent state of alertness and safe manner while fulfilling essential job functions.
Requirements:
CDL class A license and an exceptional driving record
Availability to work long hours, weekends, and if necessary, holidays
Ability to work in all types of weather
Experience loading flatbed trailers
Experience with tilt bed trailers is a plus
