Orthopedic Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Prosthetist Orthotist to join our team at Boston Orthotics & Prosthetics. Responsibilities:

• Examine, interview, and measure patients to determine their appliance needs and identify factors affecting appliance fit.
• Fitting, testing, and evaluating devices on patients, making adjustments for proper fit, function, and comfort.
• Instructing patients in the use and care of orthoses and prostheses.
• Designing orthopedic devices based on physicians' prescriptions and examination/measurement of patients.
• Maintaining patients' records and making and modifying plaster casts of areas that will be fitted with orthoses for use in the device construction process.
• Selecting materials and components to be used based on device design and conferring with physicians to formulate specifications and prescriptions for orthopedic devices.
• Repairing, rebuilding, and modifying orthopedic appliances and constructing and fabricating appliances, or directing others constructing the appliances.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university.
• Two plus years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
