Railroad Auto Examiner Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Railroad Auto Examiner to join our team at the Norfolk Southern Doremus, NJ auto facility in a recession-proof industry.

This entry-level position requires no prior experience as we provide comprehensive training to ensure success on the job. As an essential employee, you will have the opportunity to work for the #1 intermodal contractor in the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect incoming and outgoing equipment for damage and verify inventory accuracy.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions and indoors in a professional office environment.
  • Travel throughout the yard verifying unit numbers and initials.
  • Conduct regular chassis checks, typically lasting 2 hours, in various weather conditions.

Safety is paramount; personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety vests and hard hats must be worn when outdoors.

The performance of the Intermodal Unit Inspector is measured by accuracy and safe execution of duties.

Pacific Rail Services offers a competitive salary, estimated around $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
