Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Utilities Coordinator to join our team at the City of Naples, FL. As a key member of our Public Works department, you will be responsible for coordinating the efficient use of manpower and resources in maintenance and repair of the City's wastewater collection gravity and force main systems, storm sewer system, water distribution system, and/or irrigation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate field activities essential to the construction, maintenance, and general repair of the City's wastewater collection systems and components.
  • Analyze and evaluate TV inspection reports and videos to locate repair needs and generate service orders.
  • Coordinate efficient manpower and resource allocation according to assigned work orders; schedule work assignments for crews based upon priority level of situation; and organize materials needed to perform work.
  • Verify accuracy of locations of work orders; coordinate lay out of work sites; order utility locations as required.
  • Monitor and oversee safety and environmental conditions per work site to ensure adherence to prescribed safety standards and department policy and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current Wastewater Collection or Water Distribution class 'A' certification may or may not be required (depending on work location) or the ability to obtain the certification within two years.
  • Supplemented by up to two (2) years progressively skilled and lead person experience in underground maintenance and repair of water distribution pipes, service lines, and irrigation system equipment/operation and/or collection systems, to include TV inspection, lift station management, and storm sewer maintenance.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, with greater emphasis on climbing and balancing, but typically also involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials.
