Job Title: Part-time Mammography TechnologistDepartment: Diagnostic Imaging
Schedule: Monday/Tuesday 8:00am - 8:00pm and Saturday 7:00am - 1:00pm
Essential Job Functions:- Produce high-quality mammography images for interpretation and diagnosis.
- Ensure patient safety by utilizing proper exposure and protective measures.
- Educate and explain procedures to patients, addressing their concerns and needs.
- Follow established departmental protocols for procedures, unless otherwise specified by the Radiologist.
- Obtain and document patient history and pertinent information.
- Verify patient identification and demographics in the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Communicate effectively with attending Radiologists and verify provider orders.
- Adhere to infection control standards specific to patient care.
- Prioritize and organize work assignments, adjusting priorities as needed based on changing business situations.
- Operate medical imaging equipment safely and effectively.
- Demonstrate awareness of Radiation Safety Procedures for self and others.
- Conduct routine quality control checks to ensure equipment is in acceptable condition.
- Follow department protocols in the production of screening and diagnostic mammograms.
- Comply with regulatory guidelines and perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) as mandated by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA).
- Perform mammography procedures for needle localizations and stereotactic biopsies as required.
- Demonstrate knowledge and compliance of safety, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
- Work efficiently and effectively in a team setting, maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Deliver compassionate patient care with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Adhere to As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principles while delivering quality, safe patient imaging.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
- Perform other job duties as required.
- Attend departmental meetings as required.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) required.
- Advanced registry in Mammography (M) required.
- Current New Jersey State Radiographer License in good standing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- At least 2 years of experience performing mammography required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Familiarity with and ability to utilize an Electronic Medical Record System, Radiology Information System (RIS), and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
