About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team at Healthcare Staffing Plus. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare sterile operating rooms for surgeries, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Sterilize equipment and instruments, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Stock adequate supplies for surgery, ensuring that all necessary materials are readily available.
  • Prepare patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Provide support during surgery by passing instruments and other supplies, working closely with surgeons and other medical staff.
  • Track surgical supplies, ensuring that all necessary materials are accounted for and restocked as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date on surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures, maintaining a high level of knowledge and expertise.
  • Work well with surgeons, surgical assistants, nurses, and other members of the surgical team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Help provide great patient care, ensuring that all patients receive the highest level of attention and respect.
Requirements
  • 40 hour work week, scrub skills for CV surgery cases.
  • 5 OR's, call requirements.
Qualifications
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH) certification.
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification.
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Passionate about patient care.
  • Requires a minimum of two years of current Cardiovascular Surgical Tech experience.
  • Graduate from a fully accredited certification Surgical Tech program.
  • Active unencumbered Surgical Tech Indiana state license.
  • One year of Epic experience.

  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
  • A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
