Job DescriptionThe Education Support Specialist assists teachers with classroom activities, supports lesson planning, and helps promote positive student behaviors. This role involves:
- Supporting lessons taught by teachers, following instructional plans as assigned
- Helping plan classroom activities, assisting teachers with student and parent relations
- Assisting with school events, including parent-faculty nights, assemblies, and commencement exercises
- Performing clerical duties, such as grading papers and making copies
- Assisting teachers with classroom technology
- Maintaining the cleanliness of classrooms and other school areas
As an Education Support Specialist, you are expected to:
- Work cooperatively with teachers and other staff members
- Acknowledge and implement directives from administrators and teachers
- Contribute to a positive climate and culture by exhibiting high professional standards
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- An Associate Degree, two years of college coursework, or the passage of the Para Professional's Exam
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Successful completion of BCI/FBI checks
- Ability to meet educational standards as applicable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Physical ability to lift 25-40 lbs
This position offers an estimated annual salary of $45,000-$60,000, depending on experience. Additionally, ACCEL Schools provides a range of benefits, including paid time off, retirement contributions, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and career advancement opportunities within our network of 4,000+ instructors and education professionals.
