Job Overview

The Financial Planning Analyst role, reporting to the Vice President for Finance & Administration, is essential for managing the budgeting, forecasting, systems, and financial reporting functions at the University of Saint Joseph.

Key Responsibilities
  • Budget Management: Oversee the development and execution of the University’s strategic financial plans, including annual operating budgets, multi-year budget forecasts, program financial models, tuition strategies, and revenue & expense assessments.
  • Position Control Oversight: Manage position control data and overall budgetary allocations within the relevant financial systems.
  • Capital Budgeting: Lead the annual capital budgeting process, maintain the fixed asset register, and ensure accurate reporting of capital and operational expenses.
  • Business Office Support: Collaborate with Business Office staff on various functions such as Purchasing, Budgeting, and General Ledger account management. Prepare customized reports for diverse stakeholders.
  • Financial Reporting: Work closely with the Business Office team to facilitate the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reports are generated and distributed.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance is necessary.
  • Experience in higher education or non-profit sectors is advantageous.
Qualifications
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently while effectively collaborating within a team.
  • Proficient in general computer skills, particularly in a Windows environment, with strong capabilities in MS Office Suite and database management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage comfortably with students, colleagues, and external parties.
  • Proven ability to manage complex tasks efficiently and professionally.
  • Cultural competency to interact with a diverse student and employee population.
