Job Summary

CareerStaff Unlimited is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at a skilled nursing facility in Manahawkin, NJ. As a valued member of our care team, you will play a critical role in helping patients with medically complex conditions regain their quality of life.

Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide nursing functions as directed by supervisor, including daily perineal care, catheter care, and turning residents in bed
  • Prepare residents for meals and snacks, and assist with feeding as needed
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and treat residents with kindness, dignity, and respect
  • Utilize nursing knowledge and skills in the safe implementation of basic preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative nursing care
  • Perform delegated independent nursing functions using established procedures, policies, guidelines, and standards
  • Assist in data collection on the Admission Data Record
  • Contribute to the development of the patient/significant other plan of care based on identified patient problems/needs
  • Carry out physician orders accurately, directly, and indirectly
  • Assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of the nursing care administered relative to the patient/significant other identified problems/needs
  • Document pertinent observations and interventions on appropriate records
  • Perform selected tasks related to patient care and the patient's environment in a safe manner
  • Administer medication accurately, observing patient response, as evidenced by documentation in the medical record and lack of negative outcomes
  • Perform limited I.V. Therapy procedures on those patients receiving peripherally inserted Intravenous fluids, as delegated by and observed by the RN
  • Maintain and coordinate communication among patient/significant other, staff, and physician as evidenced within medical record, client, and health care team feedback
  • Give punctual change of shift report consisting of pertinent and relevant information for assigned patients
  • Provide patient/significant other health teaching as delegated by and observed by the RN
  • Use available written and AV materials specific to patient condition or disease
  • Utilize appropriate teaching methods such as one-on-one and group instruction, demonstration, or discussion
  • Participate in staff development programs and meetings as requested
Requirements
  • Graduate of a nationally approved Nursing program
  • Maintain current BLS/CPR certification from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC)
  • Must be currently licensed by the State Board of Nursing
