Job Title: Survey Party Chief

UIC Government Services and the Bowhead Family of Companies are seeking a highly skilled Survey Party Chief to join our team. As a key member of our survey team, you will be responsible for conducting field surveys and gathering data for the preparation of site plans, maps, and other documents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field surveys and gather data for the preparation of site plans, maps, and other documents.
  • Determine the precise location of property boundaries, land features, and elevations.
  • Measure distances, angles, and elevations using specialized equipment such as GPS, theodolites, and total stations.
  • Record survey results accurately, including physical characteristics of the land, property lines, and topographical data.
  • Analyze survey data and prepare detailed reports and drawings to support engineering, construction, or land development projects.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering technology, or a related field.
  • Or 3 years of related experience.
  • Technical proficiency in GPS, traditional, and leveling surveying equipment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform accurate measurements and calculations.
  • Physical stamina to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and navigate rough or uneven terrain.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues in the field to ensure accurate data collection.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with the survey team and report findings.
